SEREMBAN, 2 Dis 2019 — Kerajaan Negeri Sembilan akan membangunkan projek percubaan pertanian bersepadu di atas tanah seluas 2,025 hektar di Jelebu dengan fasa pertama projek itu akan bermula suku pertama tahun depan.
Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Bertindak Pertanian dan Industri Asas Tani negeri Bakri Sawir berkata projek ini dibangunkan bertujuan meningkatkan kemajuan ekonomi dalam sektor pertanian dan penternakan di negeri ini.
Katanya ia dilaksanakan secara berfasa dengan kerjasama Koperasi Pertanian Bersepadu Malaysia Bhd (InAgMa), Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU), India dan AustAgri Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Australia.
“Kita telah mengenal pasti tanaman moringa, jagung, cendawan serta penternakan lembu dan kambing sebagai permulaan kepada projek ini. Kaedah teknologi terkini yang melibatkan ‘pertanian pintar’ akan diperkenalkan bagi projek ini dan kesemua teknologi serta kepakaran akan disumbangkan oleh TNAU dan AustAgri Pty Ltd.
“Dengan kepakaran daripada kedua-dua institusi ini adalah diharapkan agar projek ini menghasilkan pulangan yang tinggi,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas majlis menandatangani memorandum persefahaman (MoU) antara InAgMa dan AustAgri Pty Ltd sempena pelancaran “Perindustrian Pertanian Negeri Sembilan 4.0, Bengkel Peringkat Tinggi mengenai Pertanian Pintar dan Projek Perintis” di sini hari ini.
Pada MoU itu, InAgMa diwakili pengerusinya Paul Selvam Devadoss manakala AustAgri Pty Ltd oleh Pengerusinya Philip Pryor. Turut hadir ialah Naib Canselor TNAU Prof Dr N.P. Kumar dan Penasihat Ekonomi kepada Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan Azlina Mohd Sukaimi.
Sementara itu, Bakri berkata beliau difahamkan pokok moringa atau dikenali ‘Drumstick Tree’ biasanya mengambil masa dua tahun untuk matang, tetapi dengan teknologi TNAU ia boleh dituai hasilnya dalam tempoh empat bulan ke enam bulan.
Katanya tanaman lain ke arah projek ini adalah jagung untuk dijadikan makanan haiwan.
“Mengenai projek penternakan lembu dan kambing, sebanyak 50,000 ekor produk daging dan tenusu dapat dihasilkan sebagai permulaan dan sasaran itu dijangka akan terus meningkat sehingga 200,000 selepas segala fasiliti lengkap sepenuhnya,” katanya.
