DUNGUN, 25 Julai 2019 — “Sedak doh wase bila jelas ada keretapi,”.(Seronok sungguh apabila disahkan ada keretapi).
Demikian antara kata-kata orang ramai ketika ditanya Bernama yang menggambarkan keterujaan mereka terhadap projek Laluan Rel Pantai Timur (ECRL) yang dirasmikan semula oleh Menteri Pengangkutan Anthony Loke Siew Fook hari ini.
Suasana ceria dengan penuh semangat Malaysia Baharu di tapak lokasi perasmian, di tapak terowong Dungun, bukan sahaja mencerminkan komitmen kerajaan dalam merealisasikan hasrat rakyat tetapi juga kesediaan kerajaan berkongsi manafaat pembangunan meskipun untuk negeri pembangkang.
Lebih menarik, majlis itu turut menghimpunkan pemimpin dari negeri terbabit iaitu Menteri Besar Terengganu, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar; Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun serta wakil kerajaan negeri dari Pahang dan Kelantan.
Ketika berucap, Anthony berkali-kali menyatakan komitmen kerajaan untuk pembangunan dan kemudahan pengangkutan sepertimana di negeri lain, tanpa mengabaikan Pantai Timur.
“Pembinaan ECRL bertujuan memberi kemudahan pengangkutan kepada rakyat dengan mempercepatkan masa perjalanan dari Kota Bharu ke Putrajaya dalam masa empat jam dengan kelajuan 160 kilometer sejam.
“Jajaran baharu ECRL akan melalui sebanyak 20 buah stesen, di mana 14 stesen terdiri daripada stesen penumpang, lima stesen gabungan penumpang dan kargo, serta satu stesen untuk tujuan kargo sahaja,” katanya.
Pelancaran semula ini turut memperlihatkan kesungguhan kerajaan mengimbangi pertumbuhan ekonomi di sekitar pantai timur dan ia membuka peluang pekerjaan berganda.
Usahawan dan kontraktor tempatan sudah boleh mula merancang dalam merancakkan perniagaan dan kepakaran masing-masing, malah tentunya penduduk kampung sekitar enam buah stesen di negeri Terengganu mengambil peluang membuka perniagaan kecil-kecilan.
Berdasarkan laluan terkini antara enam buah stesen tersebut ialah Kampung Raja, Kuala Terengganu, Pengkalan Berangan, Dungun, Kemasik dan Chukai, yang merangkumi empat stesen penumpang dan dua stesen gabungan penumpang dan kargo.
Selain itu turut mendapat impak tentunya bukan sahaja di peringkat pembinaan malah dapat menghubungkan seluruh rangkaian keretapi dengan pelabuhan.
