ALOR SETAR, 16 Jun 2019 — Pemandu teksi dan perkhidmatan e-hailing, Grab diingatkan supaya segera mendaftar dan mencarum dengan Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (Perkeso) bagi membolehkan mereka mendapat perlindungan keselamatan sosial.
Timbalan Menteri Sumber Manusia, Datuk Mahfuz Omar berkata sehingga kini dianggarkan hanya sekitar 13,000 pemandu teksi dan Grab telah berbuat demikian dan jumlah tersebut masih rendah.
“Jumlah itu masih rendah walaupun mereka menyedari manfaat yang banyak akan diperolehi daripada caruman di bawah Skim Bencana Kerja Pekerjaan Sendiri.
Antara faedah yang diperolehi ialah perubatan, hilang upaya kekal atau sementara, elaun layanan sentiasa, orang tanggungan, pemulihan, pinjaman pendidikan dan pengurusan jenazah,” katanya kepada pemberita pada Majlis Penutup Program Seranta dan Penyampaian Faedah Perkeso di sini, hari ini.
Dalam pada itu, beliau berkata Perkeso akan mengadakan pertemuan dengan persatuan-persatuan teksi di negeri ini bagi menjelaskan dan menggalakkan pemandu teksi mendaftar dengan skim itu.
Mahfuz yang juga Anggota Parlimen Pokok Sena berkata, walaupun beberapa pertemuan telah diadakan sebelum ini untuk menjelaskan perkara itu kepada pemandu teksi di sini, ia perlu dilakukan lagi agar mereka benar-benar memahami kepentingan skim tersebut dan mendaftar.
“Tahun lepas beberapa kali pertemuan diadakan tetapi alasan yang diberi ialah mereka tidak mampu, saya fikir itu bukan alasannya kerana caruman dikenakan adalah murah selain telah melonggarkan pembayaran secara bulanan dan bukan lagi tahunan,” katanya.
Beliau turut menjelaskan bahawa terdapat empat kadar caruman yang disediakan mengikut anggaran pendapatan bulanan dan kadar yang paling rendah sebanyak RM157.20 setahun.
“Dulunya orang yang ada majikan sahaja dibolehkan untuk mencarum dengan Perkeso, tetapi kerajaan amat prihatin dan mengiktiraf golongan yang bekerja sendiri untuk diberi perlindungan dan berharap (mereka) memanfaatkan peluang ini bukan untuk diri sahaja tetapi untuk tanggungan,” katanya.
Sementara itu di KELANTAN, Pengarah Perkeso Kelantan, Nora Yaacob berkata sehingga kini hanya 104 daripada 1,925 pemandu teksi dan Grab di Kelantan yang berdaftar dengan Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD) yang mencarum dengan Perkeso.
“Sehubungan itu, kita menyeru pemandu teksi dan grab yang belum mendaftar tampil ke pejabat dengan membawa dokumen yang diperlukan,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas majlis rumah terbuka Aidilfitri Perkeso Kelantan di Kota Bharu hari ini.
Beliau berkata setiap pemandu boleh memilih perlindungan yang mereka kehendaki dengan pakej paling rendah sebanyak RM13 dan maksimum RM285 sebulan.
“Dengan caruman yang dibuat, ia boleh membantu tanggungan pemandu terbabit sekiranya berlaku kejadian tidak diingini kepada mereka,” katanya.
