LANGKAWI, 16 Jun 2019 — Tenaga kerja yang memiliki kemahiran tinggi dan menguasai teknologi terkini perlu dalam usaha kerajaan membangun serta memajukan negara, kata Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir.
Beliau berkata pekerja yang memiliki kemahiran tinggi juga memudahkan kerajaan persekutuan dan negeri mewujudkan peluang pekerjaan bernilai tinggi serta berpendapatan tinggi.
Katanya kebimbangan penggunaan teknologi sehingga menjejaskan peluang pekerjaan juga tidak harus timbul kerana sekiranya pekerja memiliki kemahiran tinggi lebih banyak peluang pekerjaan boleh diwujudkan.
“Mesin berteknologi tinggi masih memerlukan pekerjaan berkemahiran untuk mengendalikannya. Sekiranya pekerja memiliki kemahiran tinggi berbaloi buat syarikat yang menggajikan mereka dengan bayaran gaji tinggi dan lumayan,” katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian ketika menutup Pertandingan Robotik Antarabangsa Kedah 2019 di sini hari ini, yang julung kali diadakan dengan disertai 518 orang peserta mewakili sekolah rendah dan menengah seluruh negara serta melibatkan penyertaan sekolah dari Korea Selatan dan Thailand.
Mukhriz berkata hasrat menjadi sebuah negara maju mampu dilaksanakan menerusi pembangunan modal insan supaya anak-anak dididik untuk memahami serta menginovasi teknologi terkini.
“Industri menggunakan teknologi robotik ini adalah masa hadapan, seringkali kita mendengar mengenai robotik atau kecerdasan buatan (AI). Kedua-dua teknologi ini boleh digunakan untuk perkara-perkara yang baik.
“Menerusi program yang dianjurkan hari ini pelajar terdedah kepada bagaimana satu alat itu boleh diprogramkan untuk membuat sesuatu yang kita hendak seterusnya boleh diguna atau aplikasi untuk membawa manfaat kepada masyarakat,” katanya.
