JELI, 13 Jan 2020 – Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) akan berkongsi kepakaran bersama Orang Asli di perkampungan Sungai Rual bagi membantu kaum itu meningkatkan sumber pendapatan untuk menyara kehidupan.
Timbalan Naib Canselor (Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni) UMK, Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli berkata kepakaran itu dikongsikan melalui industri pertanian dan penternakan dengan kerjasama Pusat Khidmat Ahli Parlimen Jeli.
“Melalui kerjasama itu, 2,000 ekor ayam organik serta 100 reban diberikan kepada 120 keluarga sebagai usaha membantu komuniti itu meningkatkan taraf hidup mereka.
“Kami mempunyai ahli akademik yang pakar dalam industri yang boleh membantu berkongsi ilmu atau teknik penternakan ayam yang betul,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan Program Penerangan dan Bimbingan Penternakan Ayam Organik Orang Asli, Sungai Rual di sini, hari ini.
Zaliman berkata, kerjasama itu membolehkan pihaknya bersama-sama membantu komuniti setempat dengan kemahiran yang ada dalam kalangan ahli akademik pusat pengajian terbabit khususnya daripada Fakulti Industri Asas Tani (FIAT) melalui bimbingan pengurusan penternakan ayam organik.
“Usaha itu perlu dibantu dengan bimbingan cara pengurusan penternakan yang betul memandangkan masih ada segelintir masyarakat di sini (Sungai Rual) yang belum mahir mengurus serta menternak ayam sehingga boleh dijual.
“Inisiatif secara praktikal hari ini diharap dapat memberi pendedahan kepada mereka (Orang Asli) dan selepas ini mereka mampu menjadikan penternakan ayam sebagai sumber rezeki mereka,” katanya.
