KIMANIS, 13 Jan 2020 — Lebih 1,000 pelajar lepasan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) dan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) di negeri ini direkod mendaftar Permohonan Online Pekerjaan dan Latihan Dalam Industri Minyak dan Gas di Sabah (Pomigas).
Menteri Pelajaran dan Inovasi Sabah, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob berkata Pomigas, dilancarkan tahun lepas adalah inisiatif Jabatan Ketua Menteri, dikelolakan kementeriannya dengan kerjasama Pejabat Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri dan Penyelidikan serta Jabatan Perkhidmatan Komputer Sabah.
Dr Yusof berkata sistem Pomigas dibangunkan bagi mengumpul maklumat calon berkelayakan yang berminat memperkasakan kemahiran dalam industri minyak dan gas seterusnya mendapat peluang pekerjaan dalam sektor itu.
“Pomigas fokus bagi memberi latihan kepada bekas pelajar (SPM dan STPM) yang berminat dalam industri minyak dan gas dan saya berharap mereka mengambil peluang ini dengan mendaftar untuk mengikuti kursus sektor itu,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan Program Kesedaran Kerjaya di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bongawan dekat sini, hari ini.
Kementeriannya juga sentiasa bekerjasama dengan syarikat minyak dan gas seperti Petronas bagi memberi ruang kepada pelajar mendapat maklumat tepat mengenai kerjaya dalam industri itu.
Mengenai Program Kesedaran Kerjaya, Dr Yusof berkata, ia akan diteruskan ke daerah lain bagi memberi pendedahan kepada pelajar mengenai kerjaya bersesuaian di pasaran selain informasi berkaitan tajaan biasiswa, pinjaman pendidikan dan kursus pengajian ditawarkan di institusi pengajian tinggi.
Penganjuran program itu secara konsisten juga dapat membantu kerajaan mencapai matlamat memberi kesedaran, mengoptimumkan penggunaan tenaga kerja, seterusnya mengurangkan kadar pengangguran di Sabah, katanya.
