PETALING JAYA, 9 Jan 2020 — Hanya kira-kira 20 peratus pemandu ´e-hailing´ di seluruh negara telah mencarum dengan Skim Keselamatan Sosial Pekerjaan Sendiri (SKSPS) Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (Perkeso) setakat ini, kata Menteri Sumber Manusia M Kula Segaran.
Kula Segaran berkata jumlah itu meningkat berbanding tahun 2018 namun masih jauh daripada 100,000 pemandu ‘e-hailing’ yang disasarkan kementerian untuk mencarum dengan skim itu pada tahun lepas.
Pada masa ini katanya terdapat kira-kira 200,000 pemandu ´e-hailing´ di negara ini.
“Ia meningkat (jumlah yang mencarum), tetapi masih tidak sampai paras yang kita sasarkan kerana mereka tak faham risiko, tercedera atau kemalangan ketika bekerja.
Kita mahukan semua pemandu ´e-hailing´ mencarum dalam skim ini demi jaminan keselamatan mereka ketika mereka menjalankan tugas,”katanya selepas menyampaikan ucaptama di forum ´Employment Law Reforms : What Lies Ahead´ di Subang Jaya dekat sini hari ini.
Bagaimanapun Kula Segaran berkata kerajaan belum bercadang mengenakan tindakan terhadap pemandu ‘e-hailing’ yang belum mencarum dengan skim itu.
SKSPS diwajibkan ke atas pemandu teksi dan perkhidmatan seumpamanya termasuk ‘e-hailing’ di bawah peruntukan Akta Keselamatan Sosial Pekerjaan Sendiri 2017 berkuatkuasa 1 Jun 2017.
Pemandu ‘e-hailing’ yang gagal mencarum boleh dikenakan tindakan undang-undang, termasuk kompaun maksimum sehingga RM4,000 di bawah akta itu.
Dalam pada itu Kula Segaran berkata terdapat cadangan agar skim SKSPS ini diperluaskan kepada penunggang ´ride hailing´.
“Kita akan lihat faktor-faktor yang membolehkan mereka mencarum dalam skim ini. Mereka boleh memohon dan kita akan pertimbangkan nanti,”katanya.
Pada masa ini terdapat kira-kira 25,000 penghantar makanan di sekitar Lembah Klang yang menjalankan pekerjaan itu dengan menunggang motosikal.
Dalam masa yang sama teksi motosikal ´Dego Ride´ juga mula beroperasi 1 Jan lepas dengan kira-kira 500 penunggang di sekitar Lembah Klang.
