Ahli SAM Akan Dilindungi Caruman Perkeso

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 Jan 2020 — Ahli Persatuan Penulis-Penulis Sukan (SAM) akan dilindungi daripada bencana pekerjaan termasuk penyakit pekerjaan dan kemalangan semasa menjalankan tugas melalui caruman Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (Perkeso).

SAM dalam satu kenyataan hari ini memaklumkan langkah itu diambil persatuan selepas Perkeso memperkenalkan skim baharu untuk pekerjaan sendiri yang baru dilancarkan pada 1 Januari 2020.

Melalui caruman tu, ahli SAM yang sebahagiannya ‘freelancer’ dari pelbagai agensi media sukan ditawarkan faedah tunai dan tanggungan di samping menyediakan rawatan perubatan, pemulihan jasmani dan latihan vokasional melalui caruman Perkeso itu.

“SAM melihat kerjasama dengan Perkeso ini sedikit sebanyak akan dapat membantu ahli SAM terutamanya yang bekerja sambilan dalam industri media untuk mendapatkan perlindungan insurans. Kami mahu kebajikan dan masa depan mereka serta ahli keluarga terbela sekiranya sesuatu yang buruk menimpa.

“Antara faedah kepada ahli SAM ialah mereka yang ditimpa bencana pekerjaan boleh mendapat rawatan percuma di klinik panel Perkeso serta bayaran ganti belanja rawatan.

Ia juga menawarkan pencen bulanan bermula RM945.00 sebulan kepada isteri atau tanggungan atau ibu bapa yang akan dibayar sepanjang hayat. Ini sesuatu yang perlu dilakukan segera oleh SAM bagi melindungi ahli-ahli kami,” kata Presiden SAM Jasni Shafie.

Persefahaman itu dimeterai ketika Jasni mengadakan pertemuan dengan Ketua Eksekutif Perkeso Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed di Menara Perkeso, di sini hari ini.

Melalui skim Skim Keselamatan Sosial Pekerjaan Sendiri itu, caruman serendah RM157.20 setahun (RM13.10 sebulan) memberikan faedah perubatan, hilang upaya kekal atau sementara, bayaran elaun dan faedah orang tanggungan serta kemudahan pemulihan jasmani serta pendidikan.

Ia telah diperluaskan kepada 19 sektor pekerjaan sendiri, termasuk mereka yang terlibat dalam media sukan seperti penulis sukan, wartawan, editor, jurukamera, jurugambar, artis grafik, juruteknik, produser dan mereka yang terlibat di balik tabir dalam industri media sukan.

SAM berharap kerjasama dengan Perkeso dapat membuka peluang kepada ahlinya membuat persiapan menghadapi sesuatu yang tidak diduga, apatah lagi dengan suasana ekonomi tidak menentu yang menyaksikan sebahagian industri media tempatan terpaksa ditutup atau saiznya dikecilkan.
