Pengerusi Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Penglihatan Islam Malaysia, (Pertis) Wilayah Terengganu, Mohd Fauzi Mansor berkata ketika ini proses ubah suai bangunan tersebut sedang dijalankan agar ia lebih mesra OKU.
“Kita mengucapkan berbanyak terima kasih kepada kerajaan negeri atas keprihatinan mereka dengan hasrat kami dalam memperkasakan syiar Islam dalam kalangan OKU penglihatan di Terengganu.
Kewujudan dua pusat pengajian baharu ini sangat membantu golongan OKU yang selama ini terpaksa berulang-alik dari Dungun, Kemaman, Setiu dan Besut memandangkan hanya ada satu pusat pengajian ketika ini iaitu di Seberang Takir,” katanya.
Beliau ditemui pemberita pada Majlis Tilawah al-Quran Braille anjuran Pertis Wilayah Terengganu bersama Yayasan Islam Terengganu yang disertai 15 peserta, di sini hari ini.
Dalam majlis itu, qari Abdul Latif Yusof, 39, dari Bukit Tok Beng, Kuala Nerus dan qariah Afzam Mustafa, 39, dari Kerteh, dinobatkan sebagai juara dan masing-masing menerima wang tunai RM300 dan hadiah iringan.
