IPOH, 8 Dis 2019 — Kementerian Sumber Manusia menyerahkan keputusan untuk meluluskan pindaan terhadap Akta Perhubungan Perusahaan (APP) 1967 kepada Dewan Negara yang akan bersidang nanti.
Menterinya, M. Kula Segaran berkata pihaknya berharap pindaan itu mendapat sokongan daripada kesemua Ahli Dewan Negara kerana terdapat desas-desus mengenai tindakan pihak tertentu yang cuba melobi senator daripada pihak pembangkang supaya menolak pelaksanaan pindaan itu.
“Ini (kajian pembaharuan undang-undang buruh) adalah inisiatif baharu (kesatuan pekerja), kita harap apabila ia dibentangkan (Dewan Negara) akan mendapat sokongan yang besar daripada senator.
“Peranan saya adalah untuk memperluas dan memperkuatkan peranan kesatuan pekerja di negara ini,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan Program Komuniti dan Ceria di sini, hari ini.
Semalam, Exco Kesihatan, Hal Ehwal Pengguna, Integrasi Nasional dan Sumber Manusia Perak, A Sivanesan mendakwa terdapat pihak tertentu yang sedang melobi senator pembangkang untuk menolak pelaksanaan pindaan itu.
Sivanesan berkata, terdapat 32 pindaan telah dicadangkan oleh Kula Segaran di dalam APP 1967 dan 18 daripada pindaan itu membabitkan golongan pekerja.
Sebelum ini, Kongres Kesatuan Sekerja Malaysia (MTUC) mendakwa pindaan terhadap akta berkenaan yang dibentangkan di Dewan Rakyat pada 7 Okt lepas dan diluluskan dua hari kemudian dibuat tanpa pengetahuan MTUC.
Setiausaha Agungnya, J. Solomon berkata pindaan yang kini menunggu kelulusan Dewan Negara menyebabkan wujud banyak kesatuan di satu tempat kerja, sekali gus merosakkan hubungan dalam kalangan pekerja dan menjejaskan solidariti kesatuan pekerja.
Kula Segaran sebelum ini menafikan dakwaan MTUC bahawa kesatuan itu tidak dirujuk dalam kajian pembaharuan undang-undang buruh, selain menyifatkan kenyataan Solomon itu adalah salah, tidak bertanggungjawab dan tidak wajar.
Kula Segaran berkata kementerian mengadakan sembilan mesyuarat dalam Majlis Penasihat Buruh Kebangsaan (NLAC) yang turut dianggotai MTUC dan pelbagai mesyuarat jawatankuasa teknikal sejak Januari lepas.
