LANGKAWI, 16 Nov 2019 — Koperasi disaran meneroka bidang perniagaan baharu seperti pelancongan dan aktiviti hiliran yang memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan pendapatan koperasi dan anggotanya.
Pengerusi Eksekutif, Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM) Datuk Nordin Salleh berkata sektor pelancongan dan perhotelan sesuai untuk diceburi oleh koperasi dengan menawarkan perkhidmatan dan produk mengikut perkembangan semasa.
“Sektor ini boleh mewujudkan peluang perniagaan baharu dan menawarkan pekerjaan kepada penduduk setempat sekaligus menjadikan koperasi lebih berdaya saing dalam menjana ekonomi. Sektor pelancongan, penjagaan diri dan kesihatan telah menyumbang perolehan koperasi sebanyak RM211.98 juta setakat September lalu,”
“Pada dasarnya kita nak bawa satu transformasi terhadap koperasi supaya berubah daripada aktiviti lama dan tradisional kepada perniagaan baharu berskala besar yang menepati arus perdana ekonomi negara.
Beliau berkata demikian pada sidang media selepas menyempurnakan Majlis Perasmian Langkawi De Bleu Hotel milik Koperasi Pembangunan Daerah Langkawi Berhad di sini hari ini.
Turut hadir Pengerusi Koperasi Pembangunan Daerah Langkawi Berhad merangkap Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri Ayer Hangat Juhari Bulat.
Pada majlis tersebut, Nordin turut menyampaikan bantuan pembangunan kepada Koperasi Pembangunan Daerah Langkawi Berhad berjumlah RM50,000, Koperasi Komuniti Kepulauan Tuba dan Selat Berhad (RM300,000) dan Koperasi Komuniti Kampung Kilim Langkawi Berhad (RM250,000).
Beliau turut menyampaikan pinjaman Tabung Modal Pusingan Jabatan Pembangunan Koperasi (TMP-JPK) bernilai RM2 juta kepada Koperasi Pegawai-pegawai Kerajaan Negeri Kedah Darul Aman Berhad.
