KUCHING, 31 Okt 2019 — Sebanyak 27 kes kemalangan maut di tempat kerja direkodkan di Sarawak sejak Januari hingga Oktober tahun ini, kata Timbalan Ketua Pengarah (Keselamatan Pekerjaan), Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (JKKP), Ir Zailee Dollah.
Beliau berkata, kes kemalangan maut itu merangkumi semua sektor pekerjaan kecuali anggota tentera dan pekerja atas kapal.
“(Daripada jumlah itu) Kes kemalangan di tempat kerja dalam sektor perkhidmatan awam mencatatkan empat kes.
“Manakala bagi kes penyakit dan keracunan pula, mencatatkan 23 kes berbanding 13 kes sepanjang tahun lepas. Kes penyakit dan keracunan pekerjaan di Sarawak biasanya membabitkan kehilangan pendengaran, penyakit kulit dan penyakit tibi,” katanya pada sidang media selepas merasmikan Seminar Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan Di Sektor Awam Peringkat Zon Sarawak 2019 di sini, hari ini.
Sepanjang tahun lepas, Sarawak mencatatkan keseluruhan 47 kes kemalangan maut di tempat kerja.
Beliau berkata, bagi seluruh negara dari tempoh 2014 hingga 2018, sebanyak 229 kes kemalangan tempat kerja di sektor perkhidmatan awam telah disiasat JKKP dengan 24 kes adalah kemalangan maut.
Seminar itu dihadiri 250 wakil penjawat awam persekutuan dan negeri dari seluruh Sarawak bertujuan memberi pendedahan mengenai kepentingan keselamatan dan kesihatan pekerjaan.
