KUALA LUMPUR, 24 Sept 2019 — Ujian 5G yang dilancarkan di Putrajaya dan Cyberjaya April lalu kini diperluaskan ke seluruh negara dengan projek-projek demonstrasi 5G bermula pada bulan Oktober, kata Menteri Komunikasi dan Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo.
Diharapkan komitmen awal Malaysia untuk 5G, dengan cepat menggunakan ujian 5G dan projek-projek demonstrasi di seluruh negara, akan meletakkan negara itu sebagai salah satu peneraju pengangkatan 5G di dunia, katanya.
Gobind berkata kementerian juga sedang mempertingkatkan kebersediaan dan akses kepada infrastruktur digital yang menjadi asas kepada Pelan Gentian Optik dan Kesalinghubungan Negara (NFCP).
NFCP yang dilancarkan baru-baru ini dengan kos RM21.6 bilion untuk tempoh lima tahun dijangka mewujudkan 20,000 peluang pekerjaan termasuk di luar bandar dalam aktiviti pembinaan, operasi serta penyelenggaraan infrastruktur digital.
“Dengan pelbagai inisiatif yang sedang dijalankan ini, jurang digital boleh dikurangkan dan sekaligus menaik taraf kehidupan rakyat Malaysia,” katanya ketika menyampaikan ucaptama pada Majlis Mobile 360 Digital Socities di sini, hari ini.
Sementara itu, katanya, bagi memastikan rakyat Malaysia yakin berhadapan dengan aktiviti ekonomi digital serta memantapkan lagi keselamatan pengguna internet, KKMM melalui Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) sedang menjalankan kajian mengenai ID Digital Nasional.
Kajian ini, katanya, akan mengenal pasti rangka kerja yang sesuai untuk melaksanakan ID Digital Nasional.
“Kerajaan berharap pelaksanaan inisiatif baharu ini dapat melindungi data peribadi pengguna menerusi perkhidmatan dalam talian pada bila-bila masa.
