TAWAU, 22 Sept 2019 — Pemandu teksi termasuk pekerja tidak tetap atau peniaga persendirian kecil-kecilan di Sabah disaran mencarum kepada Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial Pekerja (Perkeso).
Menasihatkan perkara itu, Pembantu Menteri Kewangan Sabah, Sarifuddin Hata berkata dengan mencarum individu mendapat perlindungan keselamatan sosial.
“Banyak faedah diperolehi apabila mencarum di Perkeso antaranya perubatan, hilang upaya kekal atau sementara, elaun layanan sentiasa, orang tanggungan, pemulihan, pinjaman pendidikan dan pengurusan jenazah,” katanya.
Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (Adun) Merotai itu berkata demikian ketika ditemui pemberita pada Program Seminar Perkeso Bersama Pemimpin Masyarakat 2019 di sini, hari ini.
Menurut Sarifuddin, ketika ini kesedaran pemandu teksi untuk mencarum masih rendah begitu juga dengan pekerja di sektor lain.
“Sebab itu, kita adakan program seperti hari ini supaya pemimpin akar umbi menerima maklumat tepat dan dapat disampaikan kepada masyarakat sasaran yang tidak mengetahui mengenai Perkeso,” katanya.
Katanya, caruman di Perkeso bukan bersifat membebankan kerana jumlah caruman yang rendah dan mampu dilakukan semua yang bekerja tidak mengira taraf pekerjaan.
“Saya difahamkan nilai caruman ini hanya dalam RM13 sebulan dan tidak sampai RM200 pun untuk setahun sebab itu saya cakap ia tidak membebankan dan masih mampu dilakukan dengan faedah yang begitu bermanfaat,” katanya lagi.
Dalam pada itu, Sarifuddin berkata beliau akan turut mengadakan sesi taklimat bersama pengusaha teksi di Tawau dalam usaha menggalakkan komuniti itu menjadi pencarum Perkeso.
Sementara itu, Penolong Pengurus Perkeso Tawau, Marsal Sapri berkata bagi tempoh Januari sehingga Ogos tahun ini seramai 1,174 pemandu teksi di sini menjadi pencarum Perkeso.
