CYBERJAYA, 21 Sept 2019 — Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan sedang dalam peringkat akhir meminda Akta Koperasi 1993 yang antaranya bertujuan memperkasakan dan memudah cara gerakan koperasi di negara ini.
Menterinya Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof berkata akta tersebut dirancang untuk dibentangkan di Parlimen awal tahun hadapan.
“Kajian kita melibatkan memudahkan cara segala bentuk gerakan koperasi. Kalau ada kekangan dari segi mereka membuat sesuatu aktiviti, kita akan longgarkan.
“Kalau akta itu, sebagai contoh melambatkan kelulusan sesuatu gerakan koperasi, kita akan pastikan boleh dipendekan,” katanya kepada media selepas Majlis Amanat Perdana Menteri Bersama Gerakan Koperasi Sempena 100 Tahun Pada 2022, di sini hari ini.
Turut hadir, Pengerusi Eksekutif Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia Datuk Nordin Salleh dan Presiden Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (Angkasa) Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah.
Mohd Redzuan berkata antara fokus kajian semula akta berkenaan termasuk untuk merasionalkan fungsi agensi berkaitan koperasi dalam mengurangkan karenah birokrasi.
Terdahulu dalam ucapannya pada majlis berkenaan, beliau menegaskan, kajian semula Akta Koperasi dan Akta berkaitan adalah bagi mencetuskan liberalisasi kerangka perundangan koperasi selaras objektif melonjakkan sumbangannya sebagai sumber pertumbuhan ekonomi ketiga negara.
“Dalam konteks ini, kapasiti dan keupayaan koperasi dalam sektor ekonomi utama akan ditingkatkan melalui perluasan akses kepada program, bantuan dan peluang perniagaan setara dengan syarikat-syarikat Perusahaan Kecil dan Sederhana di negara ini,” katanya.
