KUALA LUMPUR, 20 Ogos: Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman menyifatkan pengenalan perkhidmatan teksi motosikal yang dibangunkan di Indonesia yang dikenali sebagai Go-Jek ke Malaysia dapat membantu mat motor.
Menteri Belia dan Sukan itu, berkata sumbangan golongan berkenaan yang terdiri daripada kalangan anak-anak muda tidak seharusnya diperlekehkan, malah mereka sebenarnya memerlukan pembelaan.
Beliau, menerusi satu video yang dimuat menerusi akaun Twitternya, menjelaskan: “Golongan mat motor mahukan pekerjaan dan pembelaan, bukan sahaja program one-off atau litar.
“Mereka wajib dibela. Jangan perlekehkan sumbangan mereka kepada negara.”
Syed Saddiq turut mengesahkan mengenai pertemuan pengasas Go-Jek, Nadiem Makarim yang ditemuinya, bulan lalu, dengan Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad dan Menteri Pengangkutan, Anthony Loke, semalam.
Cadangan itu, menurutnya diharap dapat mewujudkan ratusan ribu peluang pekerjaan kepada golongan yang memiliki motorsikal, terutama mat motor dalam kalangan anak-anak muda bagi membuktikan mereka juga mampu menyumbang kepada negara..
Go-Jek, sebuah syarikat logistik berpangkalan di Jakarta, mempunyai lebih 2 juta penunggang motosikal di Indonesia dan ratusan ribu lain di Thailand, Singapura dan Vietnam, di mana pengguna boleh menggunakan perkhidmatan mereka menerusi aplikasi di telefon pintar.
