MELAKA, 16 Julai 2019 — Penubuhan Koperasi Penanam Sawit Mampan (KPSM) di bawah Lembaga Minyak Sawit Malaysia (MPOB), merupakan antara inisiatif kerajaan bagi meningkatkan sosioekonomi pekebun kecil menerusi penjualan produk hiliran.
Timbalan Menteri Industri Utama, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin berkata antara objektif penubuhan KPSM adalah untuk menjadi latform menyatu dan memperkasa pekebun kecil persendirian selain menggalakkan mereka bekerjasama untuk meningkatkan pendapatan.
Beliau berkata ia juga selari dengan objektif Dasar Keusahawanan Nasional (DKN) 2030 yang disebut dalam ucapan Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad baru-baru ini iaitu mewujudkan ekosistem keusahawan holistik dan kondusif bagi menyokong agenda pembangunan ekonomi negara yang inklusif, seimbang dan mampan.
“Justeru, bagi menyokong strategi DKN 2030 oleh Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan, saya beriltizam untuk menjadikan 55 KPSM di seluruh negara bergabung sebagai satu konsortium bagi meningkatkan keupayaan perniagaannya, bukan hanya sekadar jual beli sawit, malahan untuk tanaman pertanian lain.
“Produk hiliran sawit juga akan dijual melalui konsortium dengan kaedah penjualannya diinovasikan menerusi aktiviti dalam talian di dalam dan luar negara,” katanya menerusi kenyataan hari ini.
Shamsul Iskandar berkata sasaran kementerian itu adalah untuk pekebun kecil dengan mengangkat teras strategik DKN 2030 untuk membudayakan keusahawanan dalam segenap lapisan masyarakat.
Selain itu beliau berkata ia bermatlamat merangsang pembangunan keusahawanan bersepadu dan holistik serta memantapkan keupayaan dan prestasi perusahaan mikro, kecil dan sederhana.
Katanya menerusi strategi DKN 2030 serta penggembilangan tenaga bersama Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan, Kementerian Industri Utama, KPSM dapat menjana pendapatan serta meningkatkan sosioekonomi pekebun kecil di seluruh negara pada kadar yang lebih besar pada masa akan datang.
