KOTA BHARU, 13 Julai 2019 — Lembaga Kemajuan Pertanian Kemubu (KADA) sedang berura-ura untuk menternak lembu wagyu di Kelantan.
Ahli Lembaga KADA Mohd Zulkifli Zakaria berkata idea berkenaan diilhamkan oleh Pengerusi KADA Senator Datuk Husam Musa selepas melihat dua individu baru-baru ini membeli lima ekor lembu wagyu dari Thailand yang melibatkan kos hampir RM100,000.
Lembu itu diternak di Tumpat dan Salor di sini.
“Kita akan melihat dahulu perkembangan ternakan lembu wagyu oleh dua individu berkenaan dan jika sesuai, KADA akan usahakan untuk diternak secara besar-besaran,” katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita pada Majlis Perasmian Koperasi Keusahawanan Penternakan dan Pertanian Kelantan Berhad di Kampung Tegayong Melor di sini, hari ini.
Hadir sama, Penolong Pengarah Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia Cawangan Kelantan Zariah Zakaria dan Pengerusi Penaja koperasi tersebut Datuk Mohd Rozaman Yahya.
Ternakan itu biasanya diimport dari Jepun, Amerika Syarikat (AS) dan Australia.
Semakan harga secara online di salah sebuah pasaraya di Malaysia menunjukkan satu kilogram daging lembu wagyu berharga RM446.90. (Wagyu bererti lembu jepun).
