Kejayaan Yusry, 46, dalam bidang seni, daripada muzik hingga lakonan, selain penerbitan filem, menurutnya diharap menjadi inspirasi, sekaligus meningkatkan kesedaran masyarakat terutama ibu bapa mengenai potensi bidang TVET untuk masa depan anak-anak.
“Perlantikan Yusry tidak membabitkan sebarang kos hanya satu permulaan kerana kementerian bercadang melantik beberapa lagu ikon dan duta kecil yang mempunyai pelbagai kemahiran dan kebolehan berlainan, dalam masa terdekat
“Kita berharap perlantikan Yusry dapat membantu kerajaan mencapai sasaran melahirkan 35 peratus pekerja mahir menjelang akhir 2020 berbanding sekarang hanya kira-kira 28 peratus,” katanya, memetik kenyataan media, semalam.
Yusry atau nama sebenarnya, Yusry Abdul Halim adalah salah seorang daripada trio adik beradik KRU yang mula mencipta nama di dalam dunia muzik pada 1992. Selain menyanyi, dia juga merupakan seorang komposer, pelakon dan pengarah muzik sebelum mengarah filem pertamanya, Cicakman pada 2006 yang merupakan genre pertama komedi-adiwira tempatan yang berjaya meraih kutipan box-office, RM6.7 juta.
