KUALA TERENGGANU, 30 Jun 2019 — Kongres Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Dalam Perkhidmatan Awam (CUEPACS) meminta kerajaan menyemak semula kadar gaji minimum ke arah meringankan kos sara hidup rakyat.
Presidennya, Datuk Azih Muda berkata kadar sekarang dilihat tidak memadai lebih-lebih lagi bagi golongan berpendapatan rendah B40.
“CUEPACS cadangkan kerajaan dengan segera semak gaji minimum bagi sektor swasta dan kerajaan kerana gaji RM1,100 dan RM1,200 sangat rendah dan tidak mencukupi.
“Kalau dengan anak ramai gaji RM1,100 sebulan tolak caruman wajib tinggal baki RM500 sebulan apa dia nak buat,” katanya kepada pemberita pada sambutan Hari Raya peringkat Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (Perkeso) Terengganu di sini hari ini.
Disebabkan itu, beliau berkata banyak pasangan suami isteri yang tinggal berjauhan bercerai akibat tekanan hidup berikutan perbelanjaan yang terpaksa ditanggung seperti keperluan membayar sewa dua rumah dan kos ulang alik.
