GEORGE TOWN,14 Mei 2019 — Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) Pulau Pinang menahan empat pendatang asing tanpa izin yang bekerja di dua buah sangkar ikan di kedudukan 2.5 dan 2.7 batu nautika Kuala Kerian, dekat sini awal pagi ini.
Pengarah APMM Pulau Pinang, Kepten Hamizan Harun berkata pihaknya membuat pemeriksaan di dua buah sangkar ikan itu kira-kira pukul 2.45 pagi sebelum menahan lelaki warga Myanmar berusia di antara 27 dan 33 tahun itu kerana tiada dokumen pengenalan diri dan permit kerja.
“APMM turut merekodkan keterangan dua pengusaha sangkar ikan itu kerana menggaji pendatang tanpa izin dan mereka diingatkan agar tidak menggunakan pekerja asing tanpa permit yang sah kerana ia menyalahi undang-undang,” katanya di sini hari ini.
Katanya keempat-empat lelaki itu telah diserahkan kepada Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia untuk tindakan lanjut dan kes berkenaan di siasat menurut Seksyen 6(1)(c) Akta Imigresen 1959/63 kerana gagal mengemukakan sebarang dokumen perjalanan dan pengenalan diri yang sah
Beliau berkata APMM Pulau Pinang sentiasa menjalankan pemantauan serta rondaan dengan lebih kerap bagi membanteras kehadiran pati bekerja di sangkar ikan dan perairan Pulau Pinang.
