PETALING JAYA, 21 Dis 2019 — Lebih 700 daripada 1,062 pelajar yang menerima pinjaman melalui Yayasan Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) berjaya menukar pembiayaan pendidikan kepada biasiswa dengan melibatkan peruntukan kira-kira RM8.5 juta.
Presiden Angkasa, Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah berkata jumlah berkenaan yang melibatkan 70 peratus daripada keseluruhan pelajar menerima pembiayaan tersebut adalah bagi tempoh 2000 hingga 2019 dan nilai peruntukan pembiayaan pendidikan itu secara keseluruhan adalah berjumlah RM13,951,750.
“Keseluruhan jumlah yang menerima biasiswa terdiri daripada pelajar berjaya memperoleh CGPA (Purata Nilai Gred Kumulatif) Kelas Pertama, Kelas Kedua Atas dan Kelas Kedua Bawah mengikut pengiktirafan universiti masing-masing.
“Bagi Kelas Pertama, mereka (penerima) tidak perlu membayar semula pembiayaan itu dan menerima biasiswa sepenuhnya, manakala bagi Kelas Kedua Atas dan Kelas Kedua Bawah, masing-masing menerima 60 peratus dan 40 peratus biasiswa daripada jumlah pembiayaan yang mereka terima,” katanya.
Beliau ditemui pemberita selepas melancarkan ‘Portal Pelajar dan Penyerahan Dokumen Pembiayaan Pendidikan Yayasan Angkasa Sesi 2019/2020’, di sini, hari ini.
Abdul Fattah berkata pembiayaan Yayasan Angkasa yang ditukarkan kepada biasiswa merupakan anugerah kepada pelajar yang memperoleh keputusan cemerlang dan dasar tersebut juga memberi motivasi kepada pelajar untuk berada pada tahap tertinggi dalam bidang dipelajari mereka.
Katanya seramai 148 pelajar daripada lebih 800 pemohon telah menerima pembiayaan pendidikan Yayasan Angkasa pada tahun ini dengan jumlah pembiayaan sebanyak RM1,482,250.
Beliau berkata pihaknya akan menambah peruntukan sebanyak RM500,000 pada tahun hadapan dan menyasarkan lebih 200 pelajar akan menerima tawaran pembiayaan itu bagi sesi pengajian seterusnya.
“Perkara ini, kita (Angkasa) dapat laksanakan kerana daripada segi kewangan Angkasa… kita mampu tambah (peruntukan) dan keduanya kita mengambil kira sambutan dan permintaan tinggi khususnya dalam kalangan ahli koperasi,” katanya.
Sementara itu, portal pelajar yang dilancarkan itu merupakan akses kepada pelajar untuk berurusan dengan pihak Yayasan Angkasa secara lebih pantas dan mudah seperti menyemak status bayaran pembiayaan, kemas kini maklumat peribadi dan penghantaran keputusan peperiksaan setiap semester.
Yayasan Angkasa menyediakan kemudahan pembiayaan boleh ubah dan biasiswa kepada ahli koperasi, anak kepada ahli koperasi serta anak kakitangan Angkasa yang melanjutkan pengajian sepenuh masa atau separuh masa bagi setiap peringkat pendidikan tinggi di institusi pengajian tinggi awam dan swasta dalam negara.
