KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Julai 2019 — Persatuan dan majlis belia di negara ini mempunyai masa sehingga 2024 untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan transisi had umur belia baharu seperti yang diputuskan Dewan Rakyat, baru-baru ini.<\/p>\n
Menteri Belia dan Sukan Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman berkata had umur baharu itu hanya akan diwartakan pada akhir 2021, justeru kesemua persatuan dan majlis belia mempunyai masa sekurang-kurangnya tiga tahun selepas itu untuk melaksanakan persediaan sebelum pemilihan persatuan masing-masing diadakan.<\/p>\n
Beliau berkata persediaan kepada transisi berkenaan merupakan keutamaannya dan beliau akan terus berjumpa dengan persatuan dan majlis belia yang ada untuk terus berbincang mengenai perkara itu.<\/p>\n
\u201cSaya rasa dalam bab ini kita perlu terus melangkah ke hadapan sambil terus berbincang dengan kumpulan-kumpulan sedia ada supaya mereka memahami kenapa kerajaan melaksanakan dasar ini,\u201d katanya kepada pemberita ketika ditemui di lobi Bangunan Parlimen di sini, hari ini.<\/p>\n
Dewan Rakyat pada 3 Julai lepas, meluluskan Rang Undang-Undang Akta Pertubuhan Belia dan Pembangunan Belia (Pindaan) 2019 yang antara lain menurunkan had umur belia daripada 40 tahun kepada 30 tahun.<\/p>\n
