PETALING JAYA, 4 Feb 2020 — Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) akan memberi tumpuan kepada usaha meningkatkan penyertaannya dalam forum antarabangsa berkaitan koperasi yang diadakan di dalam mahupun luar negara bagi memperluaskan jaringan hubungan koperasi itu.
Presidennya Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah berkata ini selaras dengan matlamat Angkasa untuk memasarkan empat produk utama koperasi ke peringkat global iaitu koperasi sekolah, koperasi masjid, kewangan Islam dan produk halal.
“Contohnya penganjuran Forum Belia Global 2020 yang sedang diadakan di Kuching,Sarawak. Jadi kita dapat tonjolkan peranan kita di peringkat antarabangsa untuk membina ‘networking’ bagi membolehkan produk koperasi negara dipasarkan,” katanya kepada Bernama selepas menerima lawatan Presiden International Co-operative Alliance (ICA), Ariel Guarco ke Angkasa, hari ini.
Dalam pada itu, Abdul Fattah berkata beliau akan ke Arab Saudi Mac ini bagi membincangkan pelaksanaan Kesatuan Koperasi, Pertubuhan Kerjasama Islam (OIC) yang telah dipersetujui tahun lepas.
Katanya Arab Saudi sebagai salah satu daripada negara yang berpengaruh dapat bekerjasama dengan Angkasa untuk menggerakkan negara-negara anggota OIC supaya aktif dalam perniagaan koperasi.
Sementara itu, Guarco dalam lawatannya menzahirkan penghargaan terhadap usaha kerajaan Malaysia mengiktiraf koperasi, sehingga gerakan itu mampu menyumbang kepada pembangunan sosioekonomi rakyat.
