KUALA LUMPUR, 19 Okt: Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (Perkeso) menyambut baik pengumuman kerajaan memperuntukkan RM20 juta bagi memanjangkan manfaat Skim Keselamatan Sosial Pekerjaan Sendiri (SKSPS) dalam persediaan menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0.
Ketua Eksekutifnya, Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed, berkata peruntukan itu turut merangkumi Skim Caruman Insentif Suri (i-Suri) yang membolehkan pihaknya meluaskan perlindungan kepada golongan belum dilindungi bagi mendapatkan perlindungan minimum.
Peruntukan itu diumumkan dalam Belanjawan 2020 yang dibentangkan Menteri Kewangan, Lim Guan Eng, baru ini.
“Perkeso berterima kasih kepada kerajaan kerana memberi fokus kepada keselamatan sosial rakyat dalam belanjawan ini,” katanya, memetik kenyataannya yang dikeluarkan, baru ini.
i-Suri yang diperkenal pada 15 Ogos tahun lalu adalah bagi memastikan kesejahteraaan golongan suri rumah, sambil mengiktiraf sumbangan mereka, manakala SKSPS akan diperluas kepada 18 kumpulan yang bekerja sendiri, termasuk nelayan, pemilik tunnggal dan perkongsian mencarum dalam skim berkenaan mulai tahun 2020.
Sebagai persediaan menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0, Mohammed Azman berkata, mereka yang bekerja sendiri seperti golongan yang menggunakan platform ekonomi gig, termasuk daripada perkhidmatan penghantaran makanan seperti Foodpanda, GrabFood akan diberi perlindungan sosial.
