SEREMBAN, 27 Ogos: Kajian sebelum perkhidmatan motosikal e-hailing dibenarkan beroperasi meliputi aspek keselamatan secara keseluruhan, termasuk peluang menyediakan satu kerangka keselamatan bagi mengawal penunggang.
Langkah itu, menurut Menteri Pengangkutan, Anthony Loke, perlu bagi membolehkan kerajaan merangka satu peraturan baharu yang merangkumi aspek berkaitan semua jenis perkhidmatan dan penghantaran membabitkan motosikal.

Di sebalik bantahan sebahagian pihak terhadap keputusan kabinet membenarkan penyediaan perkhidmatan motosikal e-hailing, baru ini beliau berkata kajian itu dilihat boleh menerapkan cara menunggang motosikal dengan selamat.
Sambil memberi contoh perkhidmatan penghantaran makanan, beliau mengakui banyak aduan diterima membabitkan tindakan menunggang motosikal dengan laju dan dalam keadaan merbahaya kerana mahu mengejar masa.
โItu sebabnya setakat ini tidak ada apa-apa kerangka keselamatan dan peraturan yang mengawal penunggang motosikal ini. Jadi, apabila kerajaan membuat keputusan membenarkan perkhidmatan motosikal e-hailing ini, kita akan ambil peluang ini untuk merangka satu peraturan baharu.
โIni semua kita akan satukan dalam satu kerangka, bincang bersama Institut Penyelidikan Keselamatan Jalan Raya Malaysia (Miros), Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (Apad) dan Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ).
