KUALA LUMPUR, 15 Ogos: Kongres Kesatuan Pekerja-Pekerja Dalam Perkhidmatan Awam (Cuepacs) berharap isu penangguhan bayaran caruman Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP)
kakitangan Pertubuhan Berita Nasional (Bernama) diselesaikan segera.
Presidennya, Datuk Azih Muda, berkata perkara itu tidak sepatutnya berlaku kerana bukan sahaja menjadi satu kesalahan bagi majikan yang gagal menjelaskan caruman KWSP, malah tidak adil kepada pekerja.
Oleh itu, katanya beliau berharap Bernama menjelaskan segera pembayaran caruman itu yang tertangguh dan didedahkan oleh pengurusan agensi berita nasional itu berhubung kekangan kewangan yang bakal menjejaskan pekerja mereka, sebelum ini.
“Cuepacs harap majikan faham bahawa ini satu kesalahan dan ia juga satu ketidakadilan kepada pekerja. Kita mahu pekerja-pekerja dilindungi sepenuhnya melalui perlindungan yang disediakan oleh kerajaan.
“Caruman KWSP wajib dan kita harap pembayaran tersebut tidak ditangguh kerana hak pekerja tidak boleh diabaikan,” katanya, memetik kenyataannya kepada media di sini, hari ini.
Kenyataan pengurusan Bernama mengenai kekangan kewangan dihadapi mereka bagaimanapun, disanggah Menteri Kewangan, Lim Guan Eng yang menegaskan kerajaan sentiasa memberi peruntukan mencukupi untuk pembayaran gaji serta caruman bagi KWSP.
